Fotografia Europea 2024 | OPEN CALL

Nature loves to hide
This is the title of Fotografia Europea 2024.
Nature conceals its knowledge from our senses but reveals its power in ways that are at times destructive, sometimes delicate.

The next edition of the Festival attempts to capture nature by exploring how concealment and discovery are interconnected,
conjuring the positive or transformative actions humans can commit.
Through contemporary photography and cinema, photographers will investigate the individual, but also the ecocentric consciousness, imagining and welcoming new narratives, forms and interpretations.

The artistic direction of the Festival is composed by: Luce Lebart (photography historian, author, curator, and researcher), Tim Clark (editor 1000 Words & curator Photo London Discovery) and Walter Guadagnini (Director of CAMERA - Centro Italiano per la Fotografia).

We are already at work, we look forward to seeing you in Reggio Emilia for the opening days on 26, 27, 28 April, exhibitions open until 9 June 2024.

The Open Call of Fotografia Europea 2024 is officially open.
European (or residents of Europe) photographers, curators and collectives, of any age, can present their photographic project to become part of the official circuit of the 2024 edition of the festival.
The projects will explore the theme of this edition: "Nature loves to hide" and capture nature by exploring the interconnections between concealment and discovery, conjuring the positive or transformative actions that humans can take.
The most significant works selected by the jury will be exhibited in the official circuit of the festival, which will be in Reggio Emilia from April 26th to June 9th, and they will receive a prize of €3,000 for the conception and production of the exhibition.

The Open Call is made possible thanks to the support of Iren, a special sponsor of the festival, which supports the search for new talent and new perspectives on contemporary reality
