It's Time for a Catch Up

Comunicato Stampa disponibile solo in lingua originale.

As we move into spring, August feels so near yet so far. But that doesn't mean you have to wait until then to hear from some of your favourite writers or discover new voices. We've been posting some thought-provoking conversations from the 2022 #festival weekly over on our YouTube Channel.

March's recap has been a busy month with a lot of big names. Here's a few recommendations to get you started:

Diana Gabaldon: The Outlander Phenomenon
32 years after Outlander first appeared on bookshelves, Diana Gabaldon discusses the ninth book in the bestselling series, Go Tell the Bees That I am Gone. The conversation spans the origins of Outlander, the author's choice to set her series in Scotland, and the relationship between her novels and the television series based on them.

Laura Bates and Winnie M Li: Misogyny Laid Bare
Laura Bates is the founder of the Everyday Sexism project and author of Fix the System, Not the Women. Winnie M Li is the author of Complicit, a novel about a former actress's experience in Hollywood. In conversation together they discuss the systems that work at the expense of women, and the powers that need to be overturned to incite change.

Chris Brookmyre: One Island, Seven Secrets
Glaswegian crime-fiction writer Chris Brookmyre joined us last year to discuss The Cliff House - a novel about a hen party on a private island getaway that quickly becomes the backdrop for chaos. Here, Chris talks about the formative influence of horror films on his work, and the surprisingly 'uplifting' nature of his latest violent thriller.
